A poll, conducted by BBC Culture, asked 177 film critics from 36 countries to name their favourite films of the last 16 years with 2001’s Mulholland Drive topping the list. However, the vote has divided opinion with some rather mixed responses all round.
Mulholland Drive tells the story of an aspiring actress who moves to Los Angeles and befriends an amnesic woman. The film starred Justin Theroux and Naomi Watts, and earned David Lynch an Oscar nomination for best director.

I didn't even bother reading the list when I saw Mulholland Drive was number 1. Credibility ended there and then.

While others were happy to see Mulholland Drive receive such an accolade:
#MulhollandDrive anyone of the top ten could have been no 1 but MD is worthy as its a multilayered text that plays beautifully with form.

Mulholland Drive's my favourite film & a masterpiece, but I never would've imagined it'd make the top of any major collective list ¯_(ツ)_/¯
