As much as audiences love Casino Royale and Skyfall, there will always be a purist who longs for old school James Bond. The latest poster for Spectre is certainly reminiscent of 007’s glory years, though.

New Spectre Poster

Longtime James Bond fans will recognize Daniel Craig’s white dinner jacket from classic 007 pictures, such as Goldfinger, Diamonds Are Forever, The Man with the Golden Gun, Octopussy, and A View to a Kill. The Day of the Dead figure in the background is also an evident throwback to Live and Let Die. One can’t help but wonder what these references mean. Are they simply fun callbacks for nostalgic audiences or will they tie into the plot of Spectre, in which Bond receives a cryptic message from his past? Maybe Director Sam Mendes is aspiring to strike a balance between old and new? We’ll find out when Spectre hits theaters on November 6, 2015.
