Legacy characters to return in Jurassic World 2?

Bryce Dallas Howard has shared some ideas for Jurassic World 2, including the return of classic characters like Dr. Alan Grant (Sam Neil) and Dr. Ian Malcolm (Jeff Goldblum).

When asked by IGN, Howard expressed her fanatic hopes for the untitled sequel, and who might join the cast.  “All of them. I should just say all of them. It’s just so exciting… these characters, for the most part, you would image that they’re still around, they’re still working, and they have opinions about what’s happening and may or may not need to get involved in what’s happening”, she said.

After seeing B.D Wong reprise his role as dino geneticist Dr. Henry Wu earlier this year, the odds of seeing the return of heroic adventure man Alan Grant and sarcastic chaos theorist Dr. Malcolm aren’t impossible.

Director Colin Trevorrow is returning to write the sequel, but won’t be directing (he is hard at work on Star Wars: Episode 9). He said the upcoming film will take inspiration from Dr. Grant’s famous quote in the original Jurassic Park:

“Dinosaurs and man, two species separated by 65 million years of evolution have just been suddenly thrown back into the mix together. How can we possibly have the slightest idea what to expect?”

Fans can expect the Jurassic World sequel to release on June 22, 2018. In the meantime, grab the Jurassic World Blu-ray on October 19th in the UK and on October 20th in the US.
