After the new trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens premiered last night, people wasted no time purchasing their tickets for its December 18th debut. Fandango and Movie Tickets received so much traffic that both sites actually crashed, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Seeing how this highly anticipated blockbuster is quite literally breaking the internet, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that the film is also breaking box office records. Entertainment Weekly reports that The Force Awakens has officially sold more first-day pre-sale tickets than The Hunger Games.

“For Star Wars, we have already sold eight times as many tickets as we did on the first day of sales for the previous record holder”, Fandango stated.

At this rate, who knows what other box office records Star Wars: The Force Awakens will break. Will it beat Jurassic World’s record for the biggest opening weekend of all time? Will it take down Avatar as the highest-grossing movie of all time? Will its new trailer become the most watched YouTube sensation since Gangnam Style? The real question, though, is whether you’ve bought your advanced ticket yet?!
