Sylvester Stallone Says There Will Be a Creed 2

While it looks like Sylvester Stallone is officially done playing John Rambo, there’s a good chance we’ll see him reprise his role as Rocky Balboa in a sequel to Creed.

In an interview with Variety, Stallone said there’s “no doubt that we’re making a Creed 2.”

Stallone noted that Michael B. Jordan’s Adonis may not be the only Creed in the film. Director Ryan Coogler has an idea for a sequel where Rocky and Apollo Creed go head to head once more. Of course it’s unclear how that would work since Apollo died in Rocky IV. Taking a page from the fourth Rocky film, Stallone also said that Creed 2 may pit Adonis against a “ferocious, big Russian.” It’s unknown if Coogler will return to direct Creed 2 , though, with his commitment to the upcoming Black Panther movie.

In any case, we should be seeing a sequel to Creed. This doesn’t come as a surprise since the film has been a big financial and critical success, even generating Oscar buzz for Stallone.
