Paramount has announced they’ve taken the next Terminator film off their release schedule.

Paramount and Skydance Entertainment’s sequel, titled Terminator 2, was to be released in theaters on May 19, 2017, but has now lost it’s spot to the upcoming Baywatch reboot starring Dwayne Johnson and Zac Efron.

The switch could be a result of Terminator: Genisys‘ disappointing turn with critics and fans last year. According to THR, Genisys earned an estimated $440 million worldwide and a modest $89 million in North America.

It’s still unclear if Paramount has cancelled the sequel altogether, or if it’s just been thrown into purgatory.
