There’s currently a petition going around for J.K. Simmons to reprise his role as J. Jonah Jameson in the Spider-Man reboot. It appears that Simmons is switching from Marvel to DC, however, as the Oscar-winning actor has been cast in Zack Snyder’s Justice League.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Simmons will be playing Commissioner Gordon. Gotham City’s commissioner and Batman’s ally was previously portrayed by Gary Oldman in Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy. Before that, the character was played by Pat Hingle in Batman, Batman Returns, Batman Forever, and Batman & Robin. A younger version of Gordon is currently being played by Ben McKenzie on Fox’s Gotham.

What do you think? Would you rather see Simmons put a fresh spin on Commissioner Gordon or return as J. Jonah Jameson?
