Rumors have been circulating that Ben Affleck would be directing and starring in a standalone Batman movie. At CinemaCon, Warner Bros. CEO Kevin Tsujihara confirmed these speculations.

According to Mashable, Affleck also appeared on stage and stated, “It’s been tremendously exciting for us to be a part of the DC Universe, and we’re looking forward to working on Justice League.”

Critics didn’t much care for Zack Snyder’s Batman v Superman. As a matter of fact, the reviews were so bad that Sadfleck was practically brought to tears. Of course with movies like Gone Baby Gone, The Town, and the Best Picture winning Argo, Affleck has a much better directing track record than Snyder. The Oscar-winning filmmaker may be exactly what the DC Extended Universe needs right now. In any case, Affleck’s portrayal of the Dark Knight was definitely a high point for Dawn of Justice.
