Warner Bros. film adaptation of Stephen King’s It has been announced to hit screens next year.

According to Variety, the movie gets an official release date of September 18, 2017.

Andy Muscietti took over from True Detective‘s Cary Fukunaga to direct. While Will Poulter is no longer attached to star after the change of direction and a scheduling conflict.

It’s still undecided as to who will be recast to play Pennywise the clown, originally portrayed by Tim Curry in the 1990s TV show. But the rumoured favourite for the role is thought to be Fury Road‘s Nicholas Hoult.

Shooting will begin this summer so expect casting announcements soon.
