Remember how nice and shiny-looking the logos looked for Avengers: Infinity War – Part 1 and Avengers: Infinity War – Part 2? Well, someone’s going to have to redesign them now, because the film’s directors will be retitling both movies.
Currently enjoying critical and commercial success with Captain America: Civil War, Joe and Anthony Russo are also signed on to direct the Infinity War films, released in 2018 and 2019 – but speaking with Uproxx recently, Joe said that the ‘Part 1’ and ‘Part 2’ titles were ‘misleading’. Anthony also added that ‘the intention is we will change it, we just haven’t come up with the titles yet. But, yes, we will change it. And, yes, that is a scoop: we will retitle them.’
This hopefully bodes well for those of us who were thinking that Part 1 and Part 2 would be essentially the same movie, just split into two for maximum commercial gain – like the final two films in the Harry Potter, Twilight, and Hunger Games series. What we have to ponder now is what format the new titles will take: we’re assuming they’ll both bear the prefix ‘Avengers‘ like Age of Ultron before them. What do you think?
