Is Gambit losing a director?

Director Doug Liman is currently set to direct Fox’s Gambit movie. However, Liman is now speaking with Lionsgate about directing the young adult thriller, Chaos Walking.

The Hollywood Reporter says that Liman is being considered as a replacement for Robert Zemeckis, who left the adaptation of Patrick Ness’ post-apocalyptic novel.

Chaos Walking is set to start production this fall, around the same time Gambit is slated to start filming. Nevertheless, IGN reports Liman is still on board to direct Gambit. The X-Men spinoff could get further delayed, however, due to Liman’s schedule.
