Javier Bardem could be set to play one of cinema’s most famous monsters or the man behind the creation.
According to Variety, Bardem is “in talks to star as Frankenstein” in Universal’s monster universe. However, it’s unclear whether he will play Dr. Frankenstein or Frankenstein’s Monster.

The shared universe will bring together a whole host of classic monsters. The Mummy will kick off the series with Tom Cruise and Russell Crowe currently shooting the film. While elsewhere, Johnny Depp is in talks to be play The Invisible Man and a Bride of Frankenstein movie is also in the works.
If Bardem takes on the role, he could even make a cameo in the upcoming Mummy reboot. We’ll be sure to keep you informed of any updates but we certainly think that he’d make a fantastic Frankenstein.
