The Expendables female reboot moving forward with sexist plot?

Sylvester Stallone’s female reboot of The Expendables is set to go ahead with a rather questionable synopsis.

The film will go by the dodgy title of The Expendabelles and according to Stallone’s friend Randy Couture, the production is now moving forward, ahead of a fourth Expendables:

‘I am hearing Expendabelles talks have been going on for the past two years,’ he told the New York Daily News.

‘I heard they had a script they were adapting for The Expendables 4 and that we were going to start shooting for number four in the fall. Now I’m hearing it might be pushed back and The Expendabelles might be back on the docket.’

The film has been talked about for years now with a synopsis that has been deemed by many as sexist, it reads:

When America’s Navy SEALs are wiped out trying to penetrate the island lair of a deadly despot who has captured one of the world’s top nuclear scientists, it becomes clear that there is no such thing as the right man for the job and that this is a mission so impossible that only women can handle it.

The only way in: some of the world’s deadliest female operatives must pose as high-class call-girls shipped in by private plane to satisfy a dictator–and instead save the scientist and the day.

Stallone had previously said that Sigourney Weaver may take the lead role in the film but she might think twice after reading the plot.
