After months of waiting, of rumours and fan theories, the title for Star Wars: Episode VIII has finally been revealed. And as you may have guessed, the internet is enduring its usual meltdown as millions of fans have their say on the unveiling.
The new film is officially to be called The Last Jedi, a nod, perhaps, to both Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) and Daisy Ridley’s Rey, who rose to prominence in The Force Awakens and discovered the true nature of her life as a future Jedi. Or Padawan if you will. Rian Johnson’s film will no doubt show her rise to become a full Jedi under the tutaledge of Luke, with the director recently saying that he had known what the title was going to be even before writing the latest chapter.
