DC star frontrunner to play Cable in Deadpool 2

20th Century Fox is reportedly looking to cast Man of Steel’s Michael Shannon as Cable in Deadpool 2.

Variety reports that Shannon, who played Superman’s arch enemy Zod, is frontrunner to play Cable in the Deadpool sequel. The outlet also reports that although no deal has been agreed, Shannon is Fox’s top choice.

Recently, Deadpool creator Rob Liefeld announced his intentions to see Shannon’s fellow Man of Steel star Russell Crowe play Cable, to which the actor responded positively:

Cable in the comics alongside Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool.

While the search for Cable goes on, one role that has already been cast is Domino, who will be played by Atlanta’s Zazie Beetz:
