Justice League Director Zack Snyder has shared the first photo ever taken of Henry Cavill as Superman. The image comes from a test shoot for 2013’s Man of Steel and Cavill can be seen wearing Christopher Reeve’s original red and blue suit.
Snyder posted the images on Vero, writing “First test with Henry… I knew right away he was my Superman,” Check them out below:

Snyder had already revealed to Dejour last year that Cavill originally donned the classic suit:
“We didn’t have the suit made when Henry was auditioning, so he wore the original Christopher Reeve suit,” he said.
And he’s set to return as Superman for Justice League, sporting a new darker look for his DC character, after sharing an image on Instagram which showed a close-up of an all-black Superman costume:

So it looks likely that his resurrection will be inspired by The Death of Superman story arc and we can see him in the black suit when Justice League hits theaters on November 17th.
