Leonardo DiCaprio wants to play comic book legend Stan Lee, according to Stan Lee himself. Lee is behind the creation of many of Marvel’s most popular characters, and with his biopic in the works, Lee has revealed that he’s already “discussed” the film with Oscar winning actor Leo DiCaprio:
“Believe it or not, I’ve already discussed it with Leonardo DiCaprio. He’s a neighbor of mine and we were talking one day some months ago, and he said, ‘Boy it’d be fun to do your story on the screen.’” So I said, ‘Well, I’ll audition you.’ Gotta make sure the guy can do it.” Lee told the crowd at Hasbro’s inaugural Hascon.
Twentieth Century Fox recently acquired the rights to make a film about the life of Stan Lee. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Fox plan to make a 1970s action movie about him. They hope to create a fictional story that’s similar in style to Kingsman: The Secret Service and the James Bond films.
The film will follow Lee’s move to Hollywood in the ’70s as he brought his iconic characters to the big screen. The Power Rangers movie producers Marty Bowen and Wyck Godfrey are on board and we can expect more updates on this project soon.
