The Terminator will be back, but when exactly?

According to Deadline, Terminator 6 will officially be hitting theaters July 26, 2019. The film will see the return of Arnold Schwarzenegger as the T-800 and Linda Hamilton as Sarah Connor, acting as a potential  beginning for a new trilogy.

It was previously announced that the new Terminator film will ignore 2015’s Genisys. Now director Tim Miller has told The Hollywood Reporter that his movie will also pretend 2003’s Rise of the Machines and 2009’s Salvation never happened.

“This is a continuation of the story from Terminator 1 and Terminator 2. And we’re pretending the other films were a bad dream. Or an alternate timeline, which is permissible in our multi-verse,” Miller explained.

With that in mind, people should probably stop calling this reboot Terminator 6, as it sounds more like Terminator 3: Redux.
