In the aftermath of the reveal of Jared Leto’s Joker, everyone wants to know more about this new interpretation of the infamous supervillain. Well, we may get a taste of him earlier than expected; although Leto will definitely appear in Suicide Squad, set for release August 5, 2016, there’s a new rumour in town that he’ll crop up briefly in March 23’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Not only that, but his rival Batman – or Bruce Wayne, at the very least – may return the favour and turn up in Suicide Squad.
Firstly, photos were snapped of Ben Affleck on the set of Suicide Squad which director David Ayer is currently shooting. Here’s a couple of those images:

Affleck is clearly in Bruce Wayne mode here, with that billion-dollar suit and specially tousled hair. And what about the rumours of Joker appearing in Batman’s own movie, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice? Latino Review, a usually reliable source, reports that Joker will appear in the movie as part of a flashback scene (potential spoiler warning here), and that flashback would see Joker killing Robin. This may be what ends up incarcerating Joker, as reports have it that Joker is held inside a prison in Suicide Squad. So what could Wayne / Batman be doing later on in Suicide Squad? Could it be Wayne himself that releases the Joker, for whatever reason? It’s all conjecture as of now – but expect more developments over the coming weeks.
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is released March 23, 2016, and Suicide Squad is released August 5, 2016.
