Jurassic World bites big with largest global opening ever

Jurassic World has smashed its way out of the gates with the largest global opening of any film to date. It took $511.8 million around the world this weekend, which is the first time that a film has ever passed the half billion dollar mark in one weekend. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 held the previous record with $483.2 million. Jurassic World took the top spot in all of the 66 markets it debuted, including the United States, United Kingdom, China, Russia, Australia and Mexico.
