Alexandra Daddario of True Detective will be playing the female lead in Seth Gordon’s Baywatch film adaptation. She will star alongside Zac Efron and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, who played Daddario’s father in San Andreas.
Johnson made the announcement via Instagram, saying, “Alex is a one of kind woman (I know from experience) and can’t wait for you guys to see her own the role.”

Based on a script by Damian Shannon and Mark Swift, Paramount’s Baywatch movie is expected to start filming early next year. It’s unknown what the story will be, although let’s be honest, nobody ever watched Baywatch for the compelling plot. It’s said that the film may take a more comedic approach, meaning we could get something along the lines of 21 Jump Street.
