To mark Alien Day, Reebok released limited-edition shoes modelled on the ones worn by Sigourney Weaver’s ‘Ripley’ in 1986’s Aliens. However, they didn’t go down well with female fans after it was discovered that they were only available in male sizes.
This sparked outrage amongst fans on social media:
Wait, @Reebok created running shoes from Aliens that Ripley wore, but only released them in men's sizes? Ripley wore them. Female Ripley.

Even the smallest size, Men's 6, would be 2 sizes too big for me. What makes @Reebok think women don't want to wear Ripley's shoes??

You know what would have been funny? Making the Alien shoes available *only* in women's sizes.

If it couldn’t have got any worse for Reebok, many users reported to have had site errors when trying to purchase the shoes which had a whooping price of $175. Reebok clearly weren’t expecting so much traffic on the site as the shoes ended up selling out in just 40 minutes.
