On July 5th, Actress Amanda Peterson’s body was discovered at her home in Greeley, Colorado. While the cause of death is still unknown, her father informed TMZ that “she had some illness and a sleep apnea problem that may have contributed.”

Peterson didn’t have a ton of staring roles throughout her career, but she’ll always be remembered for her breakout role in the coming of age classic, Can’t Buy Me Love. As Cindy Mancini, Peterson portrayed the most popular girl in school who is paid by Patrick Dempsey’s Ronald to play the role of his girlfriend. Gaining teen idol status, Peterson should have endured a long, prosperous entertainment career. After only a few more appearances in film and television, though, Peterson retired from acting after 1994’s Windrunner. Nevertheless, Peterson stole countless hearts through her career-defining role and will be deeply missed.
