American Horror Story star to play Michael Jackson in new film

A new TV film is in the works about the alleged road trip Michael Jackson, Elizabeth Taylor and Marlon Brando took following the events of 9/11. And now according to The Guardian, the film has cast its King of Pop. The actor taking on the role is Joseph Fiennes who starred in American Horror Story: Asylum.

According to a 2011 Vanity Fair report, with air travel shut down, Jackson, Taylor and Brando rented a car in an attempt to drive back to California together. While an assistant to Taylor denies the report, one of Jackson’s former employees claims the group made it to Ohio before calling it quits.

Fiennes calls the film a “fun, light-hearted tongue in cheek road trip of what celebrity of that kind is like.” He goes on to say it’s also “rather beautiful and poignant about their relationships as well.”

Scottish actor Brian Cox is confirmed to play Marlon Brando and Stockard Channing will portray Elizabeth Taylor. Written by Neil Forsyth, Elizabeth, Michael and Marlon will air on Sky Arts later this year.
