The notorious satanic doll, Annabelle, is returning to spook audiences with a second film in New Line Cinema’s spin-off series to The Conjuring.

According to The Tracking Board, Gary Dauberman — who wrote the first Annabelle script — is again on board, but director John Leonetti is not attached to the project.

Annabelle focused on a possessed doll and the whirlwind of supernatural havoc it created around an unfortunate couple. Ghost hunters Ed and Lorraine Warren end up nullifying the spirit that plagued the antique and lock it up in their museum of horrors.

A sequel was bound to happen as the first movie cashed in with a substantial $246 million worldwide. Not bad for a small-sale horror picture with a budget of $6.5 million.
