Anthony Mackie to play O.J. Simpson’s lawyer

Anthony Mackie, star of Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War, has signed up to play O.J. Simpson’s lawyer in a movie based on the 1981 police brutality case.

Variety reports that the film is currently untitled but will follow Mackie as attorney Johnnie Cochran.

The story is based on real life events and will center around the “highly publicized” case that was brought to light after a college student died in police custody.

Dallas Buyers Club‘s Robbie Brenner will produce alongside Mackie who of course plays Falcon in Captain America: Civil War which hits US theaters on May 6.
