Arnold Schwarzenegger to star in action comedy ‘Why We’re Killing Gunther’
While The Last Stand and Terminator: Genisys both failed to reignite Arnold Schwarzenegger’s action-movie career, he found something of greater worth in the flawed but moving zombie flick / family drama Maggie – but the latest report is that the veteran actor has just joined an action comedy by the name Why We’re Killing Gunther, from Saturday Night Live stalwart Taran Killam.
Schwarzenegger will play the titular hitman in the movie, who eventually becomes the target; joining him are fellow cast members Cobie Smulders, Randall Park, and Bobby Moynihan. His fellow assassins decide to turn on him, and the story leads them into a hilarious game of cat-and-mouse. This sounds like a good fit for the Austrian; one of the most under-appreciated things about him is his comic timing, and with any luck, Why We’re Killing Gunther – which will be Killam’s directorial debut – will seem him nail the part.
