Batman actors pay tribute to Adam West
Batman actors have paid tribute to Adam West, who played the caped crusader on TV in the 1960s, and sadly passed away on Friday.
A family spokesperson announced that West died after a “short but brave battle” with leukaemia at the age of 88. While his official Twitter also shared the sad news:
West was considered by many to be the ultimate Batman, and fellow actors who have also donned the iconic Batsuit or who are affiliated with the character, paid their tributes to West on Twitter:
Arnett voiced Batman in 2014’s The Lego Movie and this year’s The Lego Batman Movie:
Kilmer played the superhero in 1995’s Batman Forever:
Kevin Conroy voiced the Caped Crusader in Batman: The Animated Series:
Will Friedle voiced the Dark Knight in 2000 animation Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker:
Mark Hamill voiced The Joker in Batman: The Animated Series:
Burt Ward, who played Robin, West’s partner in the 60s TV show, told BBC Radio 5 Live that he will “miss him incredibly”:
“This is a wonderful man who I’ve spent 75% of the time on this earth working with, who has been a pleasure, just amazing talent, a great father, a great family man, a wonderful human being. It’s very difficult to really believe that the end has come.” he said.
West was also known for his comedic role in Family Guy. He will be sorely missed.
