Justice League 2 pushed back for Ben Affleck’s Batman film
There have been mixed opinions of the DC/ Warner Bros cinematic universe in the aftermath of Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice and Suicide Squad and the reveal of footage from next year’s Justice League. But the big positive has been audience reactions to Ben Affleck as Batman and the news that the actor/filmmaker would helm the stand-alone Batman movie.
Now it seems Warners and DC are so keen for the Batman solo outing that they have moved their schedule a little to accommodate the film before the mooted Justice League sequel. The Hollywood Reporter has said that the move comes as director Zack Snyder is set to take a creative break from superheroes in the interim and use the time to direct The Last Photograph, a thriller that centres on a war journalist in Afghanistan.
Snyder is still set to direct Justice League 2 whenever the studio presses ahead with it but Affleck’s tentatively-titled The Batman will more than likely take its 2019 release date. The Last Photograph is a story that Snyder and collaborator Kurt Johnstad created together and could shoot the film in late 2017.
Justice League is released in cinemas on November 16th, 2017.
