Batman v Superman to Break Budget Record

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is on its way to becoming the most expensive movie ever made, according to Latino Review. The film’s budget has now skyrocketed to $410 million, matching Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. If the budget grows any bigger, it will set a new all time record.

Of course it’s unlikely that Batman v Superman would hold onto this record for very long. Rumors are already surfacing that the Avengers: Infinity War pictures will cost $1 billion. While that’s an absurd amount of money, it’s still probably a safe investment considering that the previous Avengers movies both grossed over a billion dollars worldwide. Batman v Superman is more of a gamble, however, since the DC Cinematic Universe is still new to the scene.

It’s kind of ironic that Batman v Superman will cost more than Man of Steel made at the box office domestically. Warner Bros. seems to really be banking on this superhero crossover to launch the franchise and contend with the Marvel. It’s additionally been reported that the two Justice League movies will cost $500 million each.

What do you think? Is the studio throwing too much money at these movies or are they guaranteed to show a profit?
