A Battlestar Galactica movie is officially in development at Universal.

The Hollywood Reporter says that the sci-fi film will be produced by Michael De Luca of The Social Network along with Scott Stuber and Dylan Clark from Bluegrass Films. As of now, the film has yet to find a writer. At one point, Bryan Singer was in talks to direct a BSG movie, but has since walked away from the project.

The Battlestar Galactica reboot series on SyFy remains one of the most beloved TV dramas of the 21st century. It won’t be easy topping the high bar the show set. As Battlestar Galactica has taught us, however, “all of this has happened before and all of this will happen again.”
