Ben Affleck may not direct The Batman after all

Although Ben Affleck was announced to direct his standalone Batman movie, he’s now admitted that “it’s not a set thing”.

Affleck will star in the titular role but may not helm the picture unless it starts taking shape and is “really great.”

The Argo actor told The Guardian when asked if he’ll direct the film:

“That’s the idea. But it’s not a set thing and there’s no script,”

Before adding: “If it doesn’t come together in a way I think is really great I’m not going to do it.”

Affleck also revealed that his son was the main inspiration for taking on the role in the first place:

 “Sam thinks his dad is Batman, [it’s] an incredible feeling.”

Recently, Affleck said that he was in no “hurry to to jam a mediocre movie down the pipe”.

So we may still have to wait a while for The Batman. But before Affleck makes his solo superhero outing, he will star as the caped crusader in Justice League which hits theaters in November 2017. Check out the trailer below:
