Speaking at the 25th Annual Goldman Sachs Communacopia Conference, Warner Bros. CEO Jeff Bewkes hinted at when the film could debut, and it’s sooner than we first thought.

“Ben announced a Batman movie, he’s going to direct, star, write for – I think it’s a year and a half out,” he said, according to audio unveiled by Suicide Squadcast.

Affleck appeared as the Dark Knight in Batman v Superman, and despite the film’s crippling reviews by critics, Affleck was universally applauded for his role as Bruce Wayne/Batman. It was something fresh, and the film seemed to rely on Batman being the star even with a collage of colourful – or shall we say, dull characters many audiences were excited to see.

Aquaman directed by James Wan, and The Flash being directed by Rick Famuyiwa are already set to be released in 2018, however there is also another ‘Untitled DC Film’ in development the same year, and it’s fair to say it’s likely Ben Affleck’s solo Batman film.
