Black Panther has its director confirmed

Marvel have finally announced the director for its upcoming Black Panther film. Marvel broke the news on their official website announcing that director of Creed and Fruitvale Station Ryan Coogler will helm Black Panther’s feature film debut.

“We are fortunate to have such an esteemed filmmaker join the Marvel family,” Marvel Studios’ producer Kevin Feige said. “The talents Ryan showcased in his first two films easily made him our top choice to direct Black Panther. Many fans have waited a long time to see Black Panther in his own film, and with Ryan we know we’ve found the perfect director to bring T’Challa’s story to life.”

Coogler has been strongly linked with the position for a while now but at last it’s official. Marvel was originally set on having Ava Duvernay (Selma) direct but she ultimately passed due to creative differences.
