Brad Pitt, Ryan Gosling, Christian Bale to co-star in The Big Short

Now that’s an opening line-up. Megastars Brad Pitt, Ryan Gosling and Christian Bale have all been confirmed – via Variety – to star in The Big Short, a drama coming from the directorial reigns of Adam McKay (known for his comedies AnchormanStep Brothers and The Other Guys) and financed by Pitt’s production company, Plan B. The film will be based on Michael Lewis’ The Big Short: Inside the Doomsday Machine, a book focusing on the ’90s housing and credit explosion; it’s interesting to note that 2011’s Moneyball, which Pitt starred in, was also based on a book by Lewis. While a start date for production has yet to be inked in, we can begin to look forward to what will be not only a triple tour de force watching Pitt, Gosling and Bale together, but what will also be a change of style for McKay.
