Bridget Jones’s Baby has become the highest-grossing film of 2016 in the UK.
The third film of the series has overtaken The Jungle Book at the UK box office this week with takings of £46.27m ($57m) – which is impressively almost £10m ($12m) more than Captain America: Civil War.
Bridget Jones’s Baby is currently at number 5 in the UK and it hasn’t dropped out of the top 10 since its September release.
The film did however underperform in the US, as it made the lowest earnings of the three movies. Taking just £19.5m ($24m) compared to £58m ($71m) for 2001’s ‘Bridget Jones’s Diary’ and £32m ($39m) for 2004’s ‘Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason’.
