Oscar-winning actress Brie Larson is reportedly Marvel’s first choice to play Captain Marvel in their upcoming movie of the same name. The news comes by way of Variety, who say their sources have told them the actress is leaning toward playing the role. Unsurprisingly, Marvel have made no comment.
The 26-year-old became a household name almost overnight earlier on this year when she won the Academy Award for Best Actress for her performance in Lenny Abrahamson’s Room (amongst many other awards). She stars in Ben Wheatley’s upcoming Free Fire, which you can take a first look at here.
