Bryan Singer gives us an Angel tease for X-Men: Apocalypse

Bryan Singer sure knows how to tease his fans. When he began production on X-Men: Days of Future Past, his return to the director’s chair on the superhero franchise that made his name, he tweeted a photo of Professor X’s wheelchair. And now, we’ve got a new look at some more concept art for his upcoming X-Men movie, X-Men: Apocalypse. Here’s the image that he posted to his Instagram:

This is some stunning production art. Here’s who we believe is Angel (the wings are a dead giveaway) trapped in some sort of elaborate cage, while an audience watches and a ringleader sermonises. X-Men: Apocalypse is set in the 1980s, the decade after X-Men: Days of Future Past – could the world have turned into a mutant-hating cesspool following that movie’s events?

Ben Foster portrayed the Angel character in X-Men: The Last Stand, Brett Ratner’s 2006 movie. There are rumours that actor Ben Hardy is circling a ‘key role’ in Apocalypse. Could he turn out to be the tortured Angel?

X-Men: Apocalypse is released May 27, 2016.
