According to Box Office Mojo, The Marvel superhero epic has already earned $981.9 million worldwide, which takes it past Zootopia ($971.9m) to become this year’s highest-grossing film globally.

Captain America: Civil War though, has been a huge success amongst audiences and critics, taking in almost $1 billion altogether.

It’s unlikely another film will reach such heights this year, but Marvel will be hoping that Doctor Strange gives it a good go. After all, stranger things have happened… Well, maybe not.
