Captain America: Civil War synopsis revealed; shooting begins soon

A new synopsis has been released for Captain America: Civil War, along with the casting call for the film. According to Total Film, it states:

Following the events of Age Of Ultron, the collective governments of the world pass an act designed to regulate all superhuman activity… This polarizes opinion amongst the Avengers, causing two factions to side with Iron Man or Captain America, which causes an epic battle between former allies.

This doesn’t reveal much we didn’t already know about Civil War: there is the rivalry between Captain America and Iron Man, which we were already aware of. What’s interesting here, however, is the direct link this brief synopsis makes between the looming Avengers: Age of Ultron, and Captain America: Civil War. Now we’ve learned that the plot of Cap’s new solo adventure is immediately influenced by what goes down in Age of Ultron, which only further tantalises what the events of that film will be. What could happen to the superhero team that would give them such radically different views from each other?

Along with the synopsis is the news that Civil War will begin shooting on April 1 this year – less than two weeks from now. Poor Chris Evans – he can’t get a break from the world of the Avengers. He’ll be starring as Steve Rogers, AKA Captain America, along with Robert Downey Jr as Iron Man, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, and newcomer Chadwick Boseman as Black Panther (and potentially the new, as-yet-uncast Spider-man).

Captain America: Civil War is released April 29, 2016 in the UK and May 6, 2016 in the US.
