Captain America writer sent death threats after comic controversy

The author of Marvel’s new Captain America comic, Nick Spencer, has been sent death threats on twitter, after revealing that Steve Rogers is in fact a Hydra Agent.

The hashtag #SayNoToHYDRACap started trending after the news was revealed that in the latest comic, Captain America: Steve Rogers #1, Cap has been a villain all along, pretending to be good.

Fans were not happy and expressed their anger at writer Spencer, tweeting him with their wish for him to die:

Spencer then did seem to have some regret over his decision, as he replied to Chris Evans’ tweet:

However, it is only the first issue of the comic series, and it may turn out that Captain America is not actually a Hydra Agent. Let’s hope that is the case for Spencer’s sake!
