Carol Wins Big with New York Film Critics Circle

Carol was this year’s big winner with the New York Film Critics Circle, achieving awards for Best Picture, Best Director (Todd Haynes), Best Screenplay, and Best Cinematography. Cate Blanchett and Rooney Mara missed out in the Best Actress category, however, which went to Saoirse Ronan for Brooklyn. Other highlights include Michael Keaton winning Best Actor for Spotlight, Mark Rylance winning Best Supporting Actor for Bridge of Spies, and Kristen Stewart winning Best Supporting Actress for Clouds of Sils Maria.
