Cast Responds to Negative Reviews for Batman v Superman
Despite being one of the most hyped movies of 2016, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice hasn’t received the best reviews from critics. On Rotten Tomatoes, the film only has a score of 33% positive. Of course mainstream moviegoers have been more forgiving thus far, as the film currently has an audience score of 78%. Henry Cavill, who plays the Man of Steel, believes that fans will ultimately enjoy the film regardless of what critics think.
“What is really going to matter, I believe, is what the audience says,” Cavil told Yahoo Movies! “Because they’re the ones who are buying tickets, they’re the ones who want to see more of this kind of story or not and so the audience’s voice is the loudest and after this weekend, the audience, at least partly, will have spoken.”
Amy Adams, who plays Lois Lane, also defended the film. “I know that Zack (Snyder) doesn’t make the movies—or none of us—are making the movies for the critics.”
“You can’t go into it with that perspective. I know we really hope the fans like it and so far the reaction has been really positive on that front,” she added.
While Flickreel gave Batman v Superman a positive review, we’ll be the first to admit it’s far from perfect. If this is the best Snyder can do, the DC Extended Universe may be in trouble. Regardless, the film is still destined to have a huge opening weekend. You can catch Batman v Superman in theaters tomorrow on March 25.
