Channing Tatum will be Gambit

After looking as though negotiations for Channing Tatum to play Gambit were falling apart, 20th Century Fox have reportedly now successfully signed up the actor for the role. THR says that a deal was never really in question, since Tatum has already invested a lot of time in the role and the studio are looking for him to replace the outgoing Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine. However his level of commitment to the X-Men franchise – which could last over a decade if Jackman’s stint is anything to go by – and financial reward for this were understandably key points of contention.

Gambit will start filming in October this year, will be directed by Rupert Wyatt, and is scheduled for released on October 7, 2016.
