Chris Evans’ days as legendary Marvel superhero Captain America may be coming to an end sooner than many expected.
The 35 year old actor has always made it clear that the superhero life was temporary. He was once offered a nine-picture deal by Disney, which he admitted to almost turning down, but instead settled for a more manageable six-picture deal.
Well, that contract is soon coming to an end and by the evidence of his recent interview with Esquire, he won’t be extending it. Avengers: Infinity War and the yet untitled next Avengers film will be his final two outings as Steve Rogers it seems.
Esquire’s interviewer Maximillian Potter all but confirmed the news:
“Settling in on the couch, he groans. Evans explains that he’s hurting all over because he just started his workout routine the day before to get in shape for the next two Captain America films. The movies will be shot back to back beginning in April. After that, no more red- white-and-blue costume for the thirty-five-year-old. He will have fulfilled his contract.” she writes.
The article also emphasises how time-consuming the Marvel films are, which leaves little time for Evans to explore other roles.
