With Disney potentially reaching a deal to buy Fox, the X-Men and Fantastic Four just might join the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This has given Captain America himself, Chris Evans, an idea.
As some of you might remember, Evans played Johnny Storm, aka the Human Torch, several years before starring as Steve Rogers. Thus, Evans pitched a crossover on Twitter where he plays both Cap and the Human Torch.
So who do I talk to about a Cap/Human Torch buddy comedy spin-off? I’m thinking Planes, Trains and Automobiles meets Parent Trap. https://t.co/3KRPZOVzq2

While it’s clear that Evans was only joking, we’d certainly be open to the idea. It’s actually about as probable as our pitch for a Spider-Man crossover with Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield, Tom Holland. Seeing how 2005’s Fantastic Four and its 2007 followup weren’t warmly received, however, perhaps it’d be best to start fresh.
In any case, Captain America will return in Avengers: Infinity War on May 4, 2018.
