Chris Evan may play the leading man in Jekyll, Lionsgate’s remake of the 2007 BBC miniseries based on Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic novel.

According to Deadline, the Captain America star is up for the role of Tom Jackman, a descendant of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. Ellen DeGeneres and Jeff Kleema will produce the project while Anthony Bagarozzi and Charles Mondry have written the script. A director has yet to be announced.

Although Evans has mostly played heroes throughout his career, this wouldn’t be the first time he’s starred as a villain of sorts. Don’t forget that he was one of Ramona’s evil exes in Scott Pilgrim vs. the World.

Russell Crowe is also notably playing Jekyll in Universal’s remake of The Mummy. Which actor do you think will have a better split personality?
