Chris Hemsworth speaks about going to a ‘whole other world’ in Thor: Ragnarok

Even though we’re still ages away from seeing Thor: Ragnarok, (October and November 2017 in the UK and US, to be clear) the hype machine is already in full swing. Speaking with ComicBook.com at a Wizard World convention, Thor himself Chris Hemsworth was able to say this about the upcoming movie:

‘I think it is a lot of fun. I think that tonally, it’s a big shift in a great way that we haven’t seen before. Taika Waititi, the director, if you know any of his work, he’s an incredible sort of comedic talent; [there’s] a lot of heart in everything he does. It’s a very different Thor, it’s a different Loki; we go off into a whole other world that we haven’t experienced before.’

And if you do happen to be familiar with Waititi’s work, you’ll know that he has his personality rooted in Flight of the Conchords, has directed the stellar vampire comedy What We Do in the Shadows, and has also helmed the fast-approaching indie hit Hunt for the Wilderpeople. But Hemsworth’s declaration of experiencing a ‘whole new world’ sounds very intriguing indeed: we’ll probably see at least a couple of new planets, if the rumours that Ragnarok will include elements of the Planet Hulk comic storyline too.

Thor: Ragnarok is released next year on October 27 in the UK, and November 3 in the US.
