Chris Hemsworth wanted for Crocodile Dundee reboot?

Exactly 30 years ago, Crocodile Dundee snapped onto our screens and now could it be set to return with Chris Hemsworth on board?

Speaking to News Corp, Peter Faiman, director of the original film, suggested that Hemsworth could star in a “son of Mick Dundee” venture.

While tourism executive Rick Allert said:

“I’m sure any remake would be successful and Chris Hemsworth would have lots of appeal.”

Paul Hogan in the original film.

Faiman went onto say that the original team behind the film is unlikely to be involved but a new group could take it on:

“I don’t think there’s any plans from (producer) John Cornell or from Paul (Hogan) to make another one but who knows, somebody else might come along and do it.

“It’s a matter of striking a chord, and that movie came along at just the right time. It was shot in the right place and had a great character, and a great team of people putting it together in a really timely fashion.”

Hemsworth, best known for his role as Marvel’s Thor, was recently named as Tourism Australia’s newest celebrity ambassador and so could be persuaded to take on such a part in a Crocodile Dundee reboot.

With the sheer number of remakes and reboots currently being made, we wouldn’t be surprised to see this one happen too.
