Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation turned out to be one of the most critically acclaimed and financially prosperous blockbusters of the summer. Much of the film’s success can be attributed to director Christopher McQuarrie’s keen eye for action and adventure. McQuarrie has now confirmed on twitter that he will return to direct Mission: Impossible 6.

McQuarrie will be the first director to ever helm two movies in the Mission: Impossible franchise. It’s also believed that McQuarrie will craft the script and production will begin by August for a 2017 release. Tom Cruise is of course set to return as Ethan Hunt, although we’re all eager to learn if Rebecca Ferguson’s Ilsa will accept another mission.
